I'm throwing this out, sort of nebulous and subjective but...

Do you think a Playboy model has lower moral standards than say your typical above-way above average looking woman? I'm not talking Penthouse or porn stars, but a model who has done a shoot or two, but not necc a centerfold.

No, because I don't think there is anything immoral about nudity, its a sin for beautiful women not to show it off IMO.

If they're willing to take it all off, doesn't that mean they are more open to casual sex, cheating on a partner, that sort of thing? Or are they totally unrelated?

Maybe they are more open to casual sex. However, to say that it can mean they would cheat on a partner sounds quite unrelated to me. After all, most of the people who DO cheat on their partners are not stripping for the camera.

That is a good question, it may seem weird but in my own experience with many lovelies the girls that were more open about sex were less likely to be cheating and were do you really draw the line on modeling what is the difference between a high skirt or underwear or nothing? Its all the same to me and I thank them for letting me admire their beauty for the last 30 years.

Dont know about morals, but if my woman wants to show her junk to everyone, I dont want her. Prefer exclusivity. I find that just baring skin seems to be like a sellout in place of actual talent or any respectable feature. So, I don't necessarily lose respect because she's naked, but because of the underlying reason behind it. That's what they're lives amount to, posing in some jerk-off mag. Better ways to make money or get noticed, if you're worth a damn. Just plain attention starved, seems boring. Not much substance to a person that does that.

I don't know that I could honestly answer the original question, but bet I could predict the outcome of a poll of "Who here would be ok with his daughter posing for Playboy?"

I dunno.

You have "Girls of the Big 10" type issues and a good deal of them have challenging majors and if memory serves me correctly many of the Ivy League girls are in grad school, so have a great future. Maybe it's sort of a liberating thing or they have a streak of exhibitionism in them. Like posing nude for a college art class.

You have done exactly what I always try to do when answering these types of questions.

Bring it to the personal level.

So I guess yes, I don't think it is immoral to pose in the nude. Look at all the great classic art that we admire and respect and there are naked women AND men all over the canvas.

So what's the biggie?

OTOH I would hate to be sitting at a chair in my barber's shop and have the guy next to me making loud comments about the hot chick on the centerfold...if the hot chick happened to be one of my daughers.

So, I guess that means that I am split on the issue

On average, I'll vote... at least slightly, as it relates to casual sex... but on morality overall I don't see an indication of relative poverty.

I can answer this one with experience.

For two years in the early 90s, I worked for the production company that produced all the high-end Playboy videos including all Playmates of the Month, Playmates of the Year, and celebrity shoots like Anna Nicole, Diane Parkinson, LaToya Jackson, and Jenny McCarthy. My job was as a Production Asst to start, then I became the Producer's Asst. I've been inside/to the Mansion enough times where Security would just say "Hey, Brian" when I was picking up and dropping the playmates for the video shoots. At the time, I met many, many playmates.

Most of them were normal girls from somewhere USA who thought they'd be a bit edgy and try to pose for Playboy, then succeeded somehow. Very few were ex-dancers/money-grubbers/fame-seekers. Just nice, very attractive girls who wanted to live on the edge while they were young and pretty. Nice girls overall, and I found 80% of them wonderfully attractive because they were nice, beautiful, normal girls cast into LA and its abnormal world.

After knowing what I know, yes, I'd let my daughter pose for Playboy - nonetheless, thank God I have two boys, instead.

I don't want my daughter to date or having anything to do with boys but if she chooses to do it I won't be OK but I'll tolerate it.

I'd guess slightly more open to adventuressness. I've only known one lady who appeared in Playboy -- we were students at the U of W -- she was in a "Girls of the Pac 10" feature. We didn't go out but once when I asked her if she wanted to, she pulled out a pad of paper, about 2x3 inches and wrote her number down in a heartbeat.

I never followed up because started striking me as way too taken with herself.
