Ok, Yesterday, while driving through Texas, on I-20. I passed by a place in a small town called Olden, Texas. There must have been 50 old, and new Mercedes out front. All years, and Models, in various stages of dis-repair, and a lot of them complete. As I get about another 500 feet down the road, I can see in back of the place...To my surprize, "A sea of Mercedes, and a bunch of buildings". A Mercedes junk yard.., is what it is. I caught the name of the place, as I went by, and called 411, for the number. I got a hold of the guy today, and could not believe what I was hearing. This guy has more than 200 complete Mercedes, of all years, and models, on the property. All of the buildings are FULL, of both new, and used parts.., Mostly all Mercedes. This guy has it all. He does, no advertising, and never has. He has no computer, cable T.V., is in the middle of the boone docks, and only has a phone number. Nothing is inventoried, or accounted for, but he pretty much knows what he's got, if you ask him for it. He's got tons of parts for all of these cars. I hope I do not get banned, for telling you all of this. He's a really nice guy. Some of his prices were a bit high, and he did say that 450k buys everything, except for the land, but it will come with a free year of lease to start. Some stuff, he wants to sell as a lot, most he'll sell like any other junk yard. Just call him up and ask him for whatever you need. He only has a phone, No computer as I said. Here's his number. Why would you get banned? Thats awesome! I need to plan a trip to texas this summer... Wonder if he has a few hard to find items.. Especially the M-type IP for a 617

..

Damn it. That's about a five hour run from here. I'll have to do it someday; my curiousity is peaked. Not sure when I have the time, though...

That's the place..!! I'm sorry guys, I forgot to include the name before, but it is "Foreign auto parts". Wish I had a better pic of it though. Awesome. This is the holy grail, I swear. He's even got a lot of new parts in stock, from dealership buy-outs. I asked for a rear bumper, for a 123 car, and his response was American, or Euro..? I asked, and he said he has both.., and many of each, for all models.

I told him to expect a lot of phone action starting tomorrow. When I talked to him today. Give him a call, and please, make sure you tell him Nick gave you his info. He said he'll do better on his prices, for ALL of us, and the more calls for parts, the cheaper they get. Just make sure though, that you mention me. I don't know why exactly, I guess he'll give you a better deal. I put in a rather sizeable, expensive order, and he knows I'm coming back for more I also promised him I'd spread the word, about him, to all of you.

Much appreciated.... Wonder if he would be interested in buying as well? I have some seats that I would sell him in hopes of finding the ones I need.... Only 2.5 hours for me... nothing like a Saturday afternoon drive west!!

I don't know, you'll have to ask him about that. I'm under the impression, he's trying to clear out what he has, and be done with it forever.

Hey, set him up and maybe he'll give you a few parts, or even a car...

If he's as far out in the boondocks as Nick says he is, then the best he could get for service (via POTS) might be 14.4/33.3 Dial-up. Maybe some sort of "Skyview" satellite service would be the ticket.

Won't hurt to ask...a confuser that's running anything above WIN98SE, decent modem, decent phone service, a monitor that stays in focus, digital cameras (4.1 Mpix) are going for around $50 at "Wal*Fart", and someone that knows enough about E-Bay to keep him out of trouble...

Then, again, he might be a crumudgeon (sp?) when it comes to "...that there new-fangled stuff..."
