Thumbs up The strange existence of Ram Charan

I was in a few meetings back in my GE days with Ram Charan. He is one incredible individual to say the least. He was Jack Welch's main consultant at the time. No business consultant even comes close to this guy!

I was floored when I first met him to hear about his schedule. He is ALWAYS traveling...I mean 100% of the time. He has no home and basically has a support staff that handles his laundry. Boxes full of clean clothes are shipped to the hotel before he arrives and he has the hotel ship boxes of dirty clothes back.

At first I thought...yeah...so? THEN I read the article.

Now, I would've liked to have been there.

Yeah, great personality.

Even though he must have a considerable support staff and probably a private jet, only few can do this kind of travelling, through time zones and climates.

Most humans need a fix point, at least sometimes, somewhere.

Yeah, I'd go nuts trying to live like that.

His book, Execution was great. I highly recommend it, if you haven't read it.

Man I could never live like that. According to the article he doesn't even have his own plane!

I think I'd go nuts with that kind of life after a couple of weeks.

I'd eat that life like a apple. I was traveling and fishing for many years without a real home. I loved it.

I've actually fanatsized about being that mobile... but actually, I would invest in a plane. *That* would be my touch-down point- gotta get back to the ship, which is fitted out the way I want it... home's anywhere I can fly into.

It must make financial sense to him.

Not true.

Anyway... when you reckon it, all moments of greatness, epiphany, deep connection, happen in the space of selfess ego. De- Void of ego, if you will. Something I ratiocinate on all the time. Helps me in my work ( paladin), helps me in my hobbies ( muscian, woodsman) and helps me in my family ( husband, father, brother, son, nephew). Not comparing myself to Ram, just saying I dig it, and I'm trying to dig it more.

Bet my last dollar Ram meditates. The practice of selfless ness. Things are much cleaer in that space, without the clutter of wants and needs. Where the real you can find the harmonic of everything.

Keep getting signs that I need to learn to do that. You see, in our highly conditioned world, a guy who was an altar boy as a kid, and lived next door to the church, has a hard time dropping the prejudices of conditioning, and getting it on correctly. While I appreciate my religious upbringing, the falsehoods, or misdirections more accurately, of it (and most organized religions) have vuased me to stop growing, until they can be eliminated.

Dang, uh, but I digress.... another good day in the market..... when will the Chinese sneeze again....?
