MB Consumer Reports '07 auto issue

Folks: What do you people think of the listing in CR where MB is in last place for reliability and not reccomender as a good (wise) buy, in particularly the E class model? Having just forked over $69k for an E550 should I be concerned? What say you?

"What say you?"

I say you'll feel much better if you stop reading CR.

CR is for the middle class reader that would not go out and buy a Mercedes... its probably rated low because when it does have to go in for service it costs more than your regular chevy to fix

CR? Silly magazine for car enthusiasts.

Use the factory warranty, then pay the extra bucks to extend it. No worries.

Coming from a man with a 600, the car thats supposed to be one of the biggest money hogs....

I don't trust sources like CR.... The only real way to find out about something is to talk to other enthusiasts\owners.

600 a money hog? Nah. You've been hangin' in the diesel discussion too much.

CR's best recommendation is that you go buy a Honda Accord, or if you're really living on the wild side, pick up a Camry with a V6.

Consider the source. If I wanted reliability, I'd listen more to CR. But since I actually enjoy driving, I'll stick to the Europeans.
