Please be advised: the following sounds threatening. A woman who does office work at our Zen center received this e-mail and has contacted local police, and then the FBI, where she had been directed.

She told them, of course she understands that it's a scam but she wondered if they wanted to know about it. She said the lady at the SF FBI office sounded a bit bored and dismissive of any threat.

my job he gave me all information about you.

Now listen,I will arrange for us to see face to face but before that I need the amount of $30,000.00,I will come to your home, or you determine where you wish we meet,I repeat do not arrange for the
cops,if you play hard to get,it will be extended to your family,do not set any camera to cover us or set up any tape to record our conversation,my employer is in my control now,$10, 000.00 will be paid to the account I will provide for you,after our conversation,I will give you the tape that contains his request for me to terminate you, which will be enough evidence for you to take him to court(if you wish to), then the balance will be paid,beware of business associates and friends,reply back with your phone number for easier contact as soon as possible.

It does sound threatening. I'm not sure if it does constitute a direct threat, but I imagine that depends on the mindset of the recipient. Then we have this:

which does sound like a threat. I'm sure that this sort of letter is worth some serious prison time, but alas, they're probably not in this country.

It's basically a low-level terrorism scam. One person in 200,000 might actually be filled with fear over this.

Talks the same way as some of these Russian Mail order brides I've been talking to. I'd bet, it's another Russian scam. Just like a lot of the brides, and the Russian chicks, on SinglesNet.com, who claim at first, to be from somewhere in the states. Then when you talk with them, they tell you they are stranded in Russia, and need you to rush down to WesternUnion, and send them a wad of cash, say $1200.00 for now, so they can buy a plane ticket to the states, and spend eternity in bed with you. I get hit with this all the time of course. I've never sent any of them more than a letter, and few pics though. Most of the time the pics aren't even of me anyways. Lotta hot Russian chicks out there though. Very convincing, if you are naive enough. They can feel you out immediately though, so be confident and firm when telling them you are seeing someone, get lost, or whatever.

A Glock'l git 'er done, but my preference is a wheel gun, namely a Ruger GP100. (Some of the places I frequent are too dusty, gritty for a pistol.)

I loved the Desert Eagle. 6 in barrel for home defense and when I wanted to hunt, I drop the 6 in and get the 10 incher with the scope on it. It was made in Israel so I doubt that the sand is an issue. But yes, if you are in sandy conditions, you might want a wheel gun. I'd still keep it clean every now and then using the dry teflon spray or whatever that dry spray is.
