Why doesn't MB build E-Class Coupe anymore (after W124)?

Do you know any official announcements, comments?
What do you think?

The Coupes after the W124 now are either CLK (too small) or CL, CLS (too big) for my taste .

For the same reason I can't buy size 12 A shoes from most shoe manufacturers.

Companies decided that certain models don't make bottom line sense. Market demographics have no doubt changed since 1995. Also the CLS is an E doing a pretty good job of pretending to be a coupe.

The 208 if i recall had nearly the exact dimensions of a CE, in fact 1 inch shorter wheelbase, and less than 4 inches overall shorter, track (front and rear) width, even height, within 1 inch, that's why I always argue that it wasnt built on a C class chassis. Now the real kicker? The 209, exact same wheelbase as the CE to the 1/10 of an inch, 1/5 overall length 8/10 taller with slightly wider track and again identical width. They just got ugly. I'm glad they don't make a run at a sports car, they'd just put an automatic in it again and weight it down with garbage.

I saw a beautiful CL today. Brand new. I like the style. Is there a new one out right now? I think that's what I saw.

Because they make the CLK now, which is pretty close to what a two door W211 would be like.

My friends sister has an 05, they are a sweet car.

The new CLK is just as big, if not slightly larger then the C124.
