All we have to do is stop using so much and it won't hurt so badly.

They could at least include a tube of KY like the Mercedes dealers do!

Customer "so what will it cost to fix my S600?"
Service advisor "Well your warranty is out, so you will have to pay" "Bend over and spread them"

If you're afraid to ask, shouldn't have purchased the car in the first place. ...those posts by prospective w220 buyers freaking out about the potential costs of repair. My response is look at a Lexus instead. In order to play, you'll inevitably have to pay.

Well thats they way I look at it, but I still enjoy reading the posts where they freak out over at the other forums. I just spent $5k on dubs man, I thought these things didn't break! I'll have to work like 50 extra hours at the 7-11 to fix the suspension.

I wonder how far a spring loaded car could be made to go?

If you ran out of "spring" you would have to wind your car up with a big ole key. lol

You see a lot of that on the BMW boards, esp. from naive owners who spend all their disposable income on silly bolt on mods for their 3-series cars. Then something goes awry with the VANOS, front end, cam position sensor -- what have you and the car is suddenly a "money pit" and you read, "Stay away, these cars are expensive to maintain", "I should have bought a Infiniti G35".

Well its because they are out of their league. I know three people that have W220's, all were bought new. Every single owner is happy with them and thinks they are a reliable car. But if the airmatic blows and it did on one, while they are not happy about the repair bill, its not a big deal to them. They don't view a frew grand here to their to fix them as a big deal.

Its people that buy them that really shouldn't that give these cars a bad name. They probably should be looking at a new Camry for $20k, but insted buy an S430. Well the Camry won't cost you a dime to maintain, its kind of expected that the W220 will need a few grand a year.
