Weird Audio....

Quick MB Related Audio question. Yes, I know this should be probably in Car Audio section but I never get reply.

Last week I posted about speaker phases for front doors. I have a Infinity Basslink in the trunk and when I did wire up the new front speakers in correct phase, the whole system didnt play much deep bass....was tight and didnt have as much clarity as when the front speakers were not in phase.

When I put the fronts "off phase" from eachother, the Infinity Basslink played beautiful deep bass and the clarity in the front was enhanced.

The basslink is tapped from the rear panel woofers and nothing from the front but something is effecting its bass in this manner.

I dont understand this but left it like that for now. What u guys think?

you have your polarity reversed.

which would equal 180 degrees out-of-phase...

switch your positive and negitive around.

I'm not familiar with the basslink unit; but most would require a lower level input - usually no more than 4vdc.

It might be out of phase but its sounds the way I want it now....more clear and good imaging despite it out of phase. Makes no sense but does at the same time.

Its all depending on where you sit. Sit 1/4 wave length away from one speaker and its back in phase. Of course, the cabins not big enough...
Bass (sub) amp could be an inverting amp as well.
Do what sounds best to you, leave it.
