Get it fixed, find a replacement or dump the car. Pick a choice that will keep wou from having to do it again. How much is the car worth anyway? You might be trying to spend money on a terminal patient.

First make sure the modulator on the side of the tranny is getting a vac signal...black stiff vac hose...... there is a later version of the modulator available from Mercedes.

Next check the throttle modulation cable or kick down cable at the throttle linkage.
This should have a white plastic threaded adjuster to change the up and down shift speeds of the trans.

At WOT there should be just a little slack in the cable...adjust for an up change at 5000 rpm with throttle at 90%....futher adjust for personal shift points.

if everything checks out...let us know and well give you a contact for a rebuild.
