Congratualations, Swamp. I know how great your kids' successes can make you feel. I thnk God everyday that mine didn't take after me too much. My parents' patience was sorely tested when I was a teenager.

It was surprising to me how easy it was to compartmentalize each one of them and celebrate their individual achievements. We expect the most out of each one of them (more so than their teachers), but to hold them all to the same standard is unreasonable.

I just popped the top off a nice cold brown bottle, sitting back relaxing at the end of a hectic but really nice day. Tomorrow is a half day. 2 good reasons to feel good.

Work went especially well today - I did more than meet the requirement, because my equipment was functioning flawlessly until almost the very end - a quick adjustment (which also went flawlessly) and I had my work done in no time.

Overseas travel speech-pathology here I come...Ok maybe not so fast, more like after 3-4 more years of school but all the dividends of free travel, exposure to culture, food, etc...

I am going over to Muncie today to sit in on a design jury at my alma mater, Ball State u College of Architecture.
Now is my chance to toast the young whips! Just kidding, I expect to be a pussycat. I had to promise not to say anything about my daughter's project. It should be enjoyable. Tom W Ok I am back now. It was really fun. The project was a kindof camping place in the dunes next to the atlantic ocean. No building codes needed just ideas and a model made of dowells and whatever suited their fancy. There were some that looked like architecture and some that looked like swiss family robinson. My daughter's looked kindof like a square rigged ship. I didn't have to say anything about her project, the other three jury members carried the ball for me. I am glad I didn't have to give grades. I found myself comparing all the projects after my daughters with hers and cutting them down in my mind. It was really fun. (overall, not cutting them down) Tom W
