God, ain't America great?

Lou Dobb's Top 5 List.

Top 5 Dumbest Things in the Immigration Bill
5) Taxpayers will pay for the immigration lawyers for illegal aliens if working in agriculture.
4) Illegal aliens would be given legal status just one day after their application is filed even if a background check is not completed.
3) Gang members are eligible for amnesty if they renounce their gang status.
2) Borders do not have to be secure before the amnesty program begins.
1) $2,600,000,000,000 -- That is the cost the Heritage Foundation estimates to cover the retirement benefits of 12,000,000 illegal aliens if this amnesty bill becomes law.

We still have the issue of finding someone willing to do that trivial bit of work, HARVESTING OUR FOOD.

There are lots of unemployed, able-bodied welfare recipients that might be able to put forth some effort in order to receive their checks.

Sorry that would be a violation of their civil rights.

Why can't the Democrats and Republicans just get along?
The Democrats make a bill and the Replublicans do all they can to squash it and vice versa.
I know it was an idiotic bill but still if they work together maybe they can come up with a sane idea?

That's one of the few bills I ever contacted my congressman/senator about. Die, MF.

It's not just that. The amount of leprosy cases will at least triple.

It does make you wonder but I'm telling you, I've done some of that work (driving pea and lima bean combine, driving corn picker, picking apples, pears, peaches, and oranges; and it's real hard to have a home somewhere and do that work at the same time. It's spread out all over, you have to practically camp out while you do the work, and the pay is such that you'll be stuck in that tier forever.

About the only people it really works for are people so desperate that they have jettisoned the idea of having a home while they work, and who have a real home-base somewhere back where they can actually afford a home at the wages they make harvesting food.

Cause you can't get a home up on those wages here in America. That's why the Mexicans move on to construction or gardening/landscaping as quickly as they can.

It finally occurred to me what is familiar about the argument -- it is virtually the same one that southern planters made concerning slavery.

If we don't have slaves who will pick the cotton?

Ooh ahhh god I love the way you pick up on stuff like that sometimes Botnst lol

The Bill sucked. But everyone on both sides is avoiding the 2 ton gorillas in the room...
How and when are we going to tighten up the borders? When are we going to stop giving preferential treatment and politically pandering to certain groups of people like the Irish and Cubans so that our immigration policy is fair? How much is it going to cost us and who'll pay?

Passing that stupid Bill is like throwing the water out of a leaking bucket and saying the leak is fixed. Morons.

We're not. No politician in this country has the balls to secure the border. They'll all be branded racists the moment they try. Of couse if it were me I'd say that if hermetically sealing the southern border makes me a racist then so be it and **** you to every moron who opposes it. But of course that's probably one of the reasons I'd not be much success as a politician

Did you get that from Lou Dobbs? His figures on that point were just slightly off. Dobbs claimed that there were 7,000 leprosy cases in the last 3 years. In fact, there were 7,000 cases in the last 30 years, so you might not want to go by Lou on this stuff.

Virtually the same? I missed the part where anyone argued that immigrants be forced to come to this country and then shot if they tried to escape their captivity.

Incredibly correct - Now if you can figure out how to make that happen you could be King of Mississippi
