The American dream...

Here is a story I heard from another real estate agent, we do have it good in this country...

Its about a charming couple from Cambodia. They worked hard and got to this country, but lived in a horrible apartment, in a gang infested area. They were worried that the gangs would affect their kids and wanted to get them to a nice area. Anyway their parents died young and lived in a dirt floored grass hut. Well after many years they finaly bought a house, and its in a great area! The house needs some TLC but its cute and has a ton of potential, the neighborhood is first rate. Anyway during the final walkthrough the wife was in tears, she was crying with joy. She said ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed about living the American Dream, now I am! Her mothers wish was always for her to come to this country. She couldn't have been more happy to finaly have a home of their own! She was like we have a car, and a wonderfull home, we are living the dream!

Food for thought, food for thought...

With what ever faults it has....this is still the land of opportunity.

And everybody knows it (except some of us). That is why so many want to come and live here.

It's amazing, how many first generation immigrants end up being small business owners just so their kids don't have to.

I used to be a clerk for a Judge in Criminal court.

Sometimes a previously deported illegal alien would return to the USA, and get arrested committing another crime.

Brought before this judge for arraignment, the first words out of the Judge's mouth to the defendant ( delivered ABSOLUTELY deadpan) was: "Welcome to the land of opportunity"

You really had to be there, it was just hysterically funny

(That judge had a 500SEC AMG which got me interested in them after he had me drive his to Denver for his Aspen skiing winter)

Your house is female...??

How can you tell, if a house is a home, or a homette..? Must you
lift up it's skirt?

What do you prefer, a female home, or a male home..?

I really prefer a female home, and also a female AT home..or perhaps, more than one..

More food, for thought..

Des- thanks you for a wonderful story. My parents too, stressed the importance of an education and I was able to fulfill one of his dreams before he died, I got my masters degree the first of his children to do this. The pressure to get this done before he died was a great burden and i prayed every night that he would be able to see me graduate.
