So you think you're fit?

That guy's nuts; I have read several stories about him in Runner's World. It's a little depressing to come in from a 9-miler, grab the mail, and read about ol' Dean.

Looks like he came ~25 miles short of the record.

He's pretty incredible, no doubt.

Saw on his site his resting heart rate is 39. Not to take anything away from him, I'm posting because I had an EKG yesterday and my heart rate was 41. I just want to brag. That was after 40 oz of Diet Pepsi. My true resting heart rate (measured when you wake up before you even lift your head off the pillow) is probably lower.

I'm a 47 year old recreational runner who did a few marathons 10 years ago. I'm coming back from injury and only run about 15 miles per week now.

Mine hovers around 39-44... Its natural.. Always has been. Same with my mom.. Sometimes when I feel like having fun with the nurse I'll make it go lower by just channeling my thoughts to lower it.. I really freaked them out
