Explosives found near Hyde Park, London

A large amount of explosives were found in a locked, parked car in London.

I am watching the news and the car, where the explosives were found, is a....Benz W124!

Don't the terrorists know? Any explosives locked in a W124 will never get out to do any damage.

F'ing bastard terrorists. May they all die slow, painful deaths. :furious2:

My son just came back fro a trip to England. He was in London too.

That might explain the 3 hour long security line at Philly this am.

Is that story the same as this?

Silver Mercedes used as a Bomb!

Probably. They should have used an Aztek. :)

CONSIDERING THAT LONDON HAS THOUSANDS OF UNDERCOVER CAMERAS, I LIKE THE ODDS OF FINDING THE PERPS!

I HOPE THEY SET A PRECEDENT AND KILL THOSE BASTARDS WHEN THEY CATCH THEM.:grim:

Someone please merge all these threads.

Looks like a very nice example of a W124 as well. CNN has some pictures from a person who walked by the incident as it was happening. To me it appears to be an amateurish attempt by some idiot(s) who don't have very good connections.

If they had used an old W123 the terror effect would have been much more substantial. Cuts from rusty metal can be pretty nasty. :)

Good observation. Hence the smoke that alerted authorities to the bomb.

Hey B, do you remember that group here that said that police combing an area is a wasteful tactic to counter a bomb attack?

For you guys in San Fran you may see a certain Coast Guard guy walking around the wharf and baseball games with his dog, if you do thats because he's looking for things that go BOOM.

Those boats that look inflatable patrolling the harbor are not inflatable, they are designed to ram boats and sink them.

Have you looked in your driveway?

The car is a 1990, more about the car.

From the pictures, this much can be gleaned:

It's thistle green.

The British number plate was G 824 VFK. That makes it a "G" reg. car.

"G" plates were issued to new cars registered from August 1989 to July 1990.

Ergo, it's a '90. Clearly a gasser, because no diesel intakes cuts on the right front fender. UK car because it has the orange side marker light on the fender, which all UK cars had to have.

The open trunk reveals the warning triangle in place.

The car was probably stolen somewhere to be used in this caper.
