It would be a perfect fit for Microsoft to make beer.

It would be a beer made from copied recipes of Miller & Anheuser-Busch. Microsoft would load it for free onto distributor's trucks who would pass-through the beer price to the consumer. This would provide a huge delivery system for a mediocre beer that consumers would eventually come to regard as all they should expect of beer.

If it were a Vista beer, you would have to reverify with Microsoft.

I dunno. My first laptop, a Dell with the infamous Windows ME (Millennium edition -- a fancy title to cover for a $h!tty product) was a complete pain but my newer Gateway notebook with XP Professional has been pain-free.

My house has a late model Mac desktop which I frequently use and for my needs, it's not noticeably better. Some features are a pain in the ass, in fact.
