"News Flashes" We've Heard Before

I keep a mental note of news flashes we've heard before. Typically, they come out on slow news days, and you imagine some bored news director going into the archives and re-running something.

Yeah, fireworks are very dangerous. Back when I was in the local Jaycee club, we were responsible for firing off them for the local show. Moisture makes them very dicey. The launch charges are much smaller than the display charges which are designed to go off high in the air. If you have a partial misfire, as in the launch charge fizzles, which can happen if it gets wet, you pray that the display charge does not go off in the mortar tube, as it will blow it apart. If that happens the tube becomes schrapnel for anybody close by. We had a few that failed to launch. When that happened we prayed and poured water down the tube. They probably are not regulated enough.

They mention Gore's son affecting the campaign.... Al is not running for anything at present.....officially at least.....

A prius will go 100?

Swimmer drowns in Joe Pool Lake

Only the D/FW folks would get his one...

...every season, one or more folks drown in this lake, and it seems like the only one that has drownings...kinda our own "Bermuda Triangle" down here...

Like Great Falls in VA/MD. Every year people go swimming there and every year they have a few drownings every year.
