Gettin' up in the AM

Mindless thread, but I'm curious.

I read somewhere that 40% of Americans wake up before 7am for work.

Do you? I'm not a morning person, so it's rare.

Howdy Ted,
Since Our main electrical panel blew up and caught fire we have been on genrators so I am up at 3 am, start work at 4 am, usually off at 12:30pm. When we get our regular power back I will get up at my regular time of 4:30am and start work at 5:30am. The on my one day off (sunday) I take the dogs out running I'm up around 4:30am. During the winter I can take the dogs out later so I can sleep in till about 6am. Then there are the times that I take the dogs to a running competition and have to be up around 2am.

3:30-4 am every morn,up like a daisy, walk the hound, have coffee with a splash'o rum,go into the shop and check on the antique resto work, make a fresh pot for my wife @ 6,get my daughter's bag ready for camp and then drive out to check the houses.

after 9 I can do anything I need to,look at the contents and make an offer for the contents of a house, supervise my workers rewiring another rental or take an old car and f*ck off for a few hours..life is good,

In bed generally @ 11 but that can vary with the drug and alcohol intake........

man, when i worked nights i loved to sleep as late as possible. now, i've been getting up before 8 almost all the time and, much to my chagrin, i find it difficult to sleep past 8:30 even when i can

kmaysob 07-15-2007 11:23 PM

Larry Delor 07-15-2007 11:29 PM

Up at 6am - whether I want to, or not.

al76slc 07-16-2007 06:03 AM

Never!!!

 Check out time stamp for this post. Our Lab gets me up at 5:30 like clockwork. It's usually within 2 minutes of the same time every day.

Botnst 07-16-2007 07:53 AM

Usually up between 5:30 and 6 (AM). In bed by 10 to 10:30 (PM). But not like an OCD thing. Sometimes I stay up late to post poop on the OD or read or watch the telly. Sometimes I sleep to 8 or 9. (except on workdays!).

The Swede 07-16-2007 08:30 AM

Early birds. I need 9 hrs of sleep.

I don't need to be in to work until about 830, so getting up at 730 is about right. I only need to keep an eye on one employee, who's an as needed worker. During the summer that's full time.

LUVMBDiesels 07-16-2007 09:52 AM

4:30am for me... out the door with the wife by 5:10 for our 84 mile trek to Manhattan...

KylePavao 07-16-2007 10:18 AM

Hmm

In the summer when I am working basically full time, usually my shifts start at 6am, so usually up for 5 am. During school...different story...depends if I feel like going to class :D

Yikes!

Up by 5:30AM, sometimes earlier when my daughter's sports activities deem so...long 80-mi drive to some sports complex for an early morning game on a weekend.

One I got married, the burden of head of household and life's responsibilities don't allow me restful sleep past 5AM... :dizzy2:
