How to survive on a discussion forum 101
Makes me wonder why folks get a burr under their saddle so easily on forums. This one ain't the exception. Seen it on every forum I've been on. I've only been "got" once a few years ago on another forum. Germanstar may remember it. I cooled down, got back on and appologized, moved on. Here's my philosophy:
1) I really don't know you, you really don't know me. Therefore, your opinions of me, or my opinions, REALLY don't affect my life one bit. It just doesn't matter!!!!!!! 2) Grow thick skin. Maybe being a life member of a rather controverial religion has helped me with that. Not much gets to me anymore. 3) A forum is a limited way of expressing ideas, opinions, philosophies, ect. I can't see the twinkle in your eye as your typing, so it's too easy to misread something, and take offense. So, sit back, relax, wait it out and see what else is expressed. Eventually I'll get a better idea of what you're REALLY trying to say. If someone really does mean to offend me, refer back to rule #1. 4) Did I mention to grow thicker skin?

It takes longer to get a sense of people's personalities through a medium like this forum, but I still believe one's true colors begin to show through after a while. Of course, this does nothing to negate Rickg's points above. I agree with you, Rick.
If somebody I don't know and who does not know me gets upset with me, I figure that's more "his" or "her" stuff than it is mine. Why would that offend me? It doesn't.
