The Simpsons Movie

Just got back from a midnight screening,,,, I took my 2 kids as a special treat (they're 7 & 9) and I honestly haven't laughed so hard in years,, we were all crying.

Perhaps not a huge leap from the TV show,,, and the last 20 minutes felt a little flat,,, but it is beautifully animated and an absolute MUST for even casual Simpsons fans.

Apart from a brief comic flash of male genitals,,, there isn't much here that you wouldn't see in a regular episode,, I think the PG13 rating is a little harsh.

Don't wait for the DVD,, go watch it on the big screen with THX sound and 200 other grown-up juveniles.

As one of those grown-up juveniles , I'll probably catch it this weekend with the Mrs. and our oldest son.

But that implies that I matured somewhere along the line.

I also saw it today, I thought it was a quite good movie, not too much of a departure from the TV show. It had the whole theater laughing, I'm considering going to see it again because I'm sure I missed some stuff during the laughing.

Pretty much what my daughter remarked after seeing it.

I will probably catch it after I take her to see "Transformers"

So Simpon's didn't "jump the shark"? Good deal.

That's some of the best written comedy to come down the pipe in a long time.

I'm not inclined to spend over $5.00 for a movie, so will wait for the rental release.

People started clapping after the movie when I saw it yesterday. It didn't catch the whole theatre, but maybe half of the people started clapping and then it died down. The only other movie I've been to where people clapped at the end was Transformers and that got a pretty good round of applause. Is this some kind of new trend? It's not like any of the people involved with the making of the movie would have been there to hear it.
