AC.... what?

I think I figured out why the house has been like... 90F inside... the AC unit took a dump...

its not cycling on or anything. the condenser was serviced 8 months ago and that solved the older issue... and perhaps the higher than normal electric bill would support the fact the compressor has been dying...

neighbor came over.. we pulled the cover off the exterior unit... tested the board.. go inside.. test the float relay.. tests bad.. bypass it... outside unit cycles, freon is flowing now...

cheap relay failed.. its probably been the cause of the super hot temp inside for the past couple days

Don't write it off yet.

The higher than normal eclectric bill could simply be a function of usage, cooling-days, and energy cost.

Is the condenser fan running, but the compressor not starting up? Could just be a bad starting capacitor. Whenever I've replaced one, I always go a bit bigger. Mine just went out in my AC. It had 33 mfd and I put in a 45mfd. 35 bucks. Starts every time now!
