Michael Vick to be honored

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/13815031/detail.html

I'm sure Bill will offer a guarded response, as will all others attending.

Quote:
ATLANTA -- While he waits for his trial related to dogfighting charges to start, Michael Vick will be honored by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

SCLC President Charles Steele announced Thursday during a news conference that the group will find a way to honor Vick during its national convention that began Friday.

"We will recognize Vick for being an outstanding human being," said Steele. "We will work with anyone who opens their heart and arms to us."

The president of the SCLC told Channel 2's JaQuitta Williams the organization will honor Vick by praying for him. Steele said supporting people in need is what the SCLC has been about for the past 50 years.

"We're in support of Michael as a human being," SCLC president Charles Steele said. "Right now, he's feeling discarded, ostracized by people who are rushing to judgment. It's our responsibility to save him."

Steele said he did not know if Vick will attend any of the events at the conference.

Former President Bill Clinton is a scheduled speaker and will cut the ribbon of the SCLC's new headquarters. Presidential candidates Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) , Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) , Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee are also expected to attend.

Nothing more than a campaign contribution....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was he not snagged by federalies?

If he goes to the slammer, Hilary could exonerate him after she and Bill move back into the White House.

Hey....maybe he could quarterback for the Red Skins after that..........dog fights on the Potomac?

A friend of mine once owned a 110 lb. German Shepherd that was such a sweetheart; I used to play with him by putting my hand in his mouth. He never even thought of biting down. I don't know if I want to play that game with the poochie shown above.

I have a 105 pound male Akita that looks imposing...but he is a total sweetheart.

During last night's 4.5 temblor he kept looking at me as if to say:

"You better have stored extra doggy treats with your earthquake supplies!"

I was too lazy to find a pic, that's a google.

Lesseee....

"Mary" my pit doesn't look at all menacing. More like a mixed chocolate lab.

Here's "Blue" the Am Staff. Has some of the classic bully breed characteristics.

Akita's are on the "mean dog" hit list. A state rep from a southern Minneapolis suburb is trying to ban pits/amstaffs/akitas/rotts... He was clobbered by dog lovers, rescues, the humane society, AKC,... even the city animal control agency wrote an op-ed and stated that the ban is a slippery slope PLUS an owner issue. Enforce the laws already on the books. We dont need a Denver Nazi dog ban.

Why doesn't he try to ban crackheads instead? Compared to them, I'd feel safer in a neighborhood full of pissed-off Rotties.
