Anybody here ever used a career coach?

I have been reading about career coaches this afternoon. I've never talked to anyone who has used one. Have any of you done this?

I have a career coach...my wallet and my GF.:wacky:

I have both of those, too. Both are terrific, BTW, but I'm looking for a little something more.

I haven't nor can I say that I really know what one does. Is the purpose to make yourself more marketable to potential employers or improve your ability to do your current job?

I did attend a seminar on how to sell at prices higher than your competitors that I found to be an eye-opener. I even bought a book from the guy which shows his powers of persuation. It wasn't discounted either :P

Dee8go 08-10-2007 03:56 PM

Okay, can you be a little more specific?

Mistress 08-10-2007 03:59 PM

your the one looking for a job not me, you need to be specific. go on tell them what your looking for and maybe someone out there can hire you.

I was making a joke about "somewhere out there . . ." Mistress. Career Coaches are for a variety of things, none of which are helping you find a job, per se.

I'm going to as soon as I get my business off the ground.

I know three realtors who use a coach. One pays $12k a year for one on one coaching, but has seen a return of $300k a year because of it.

As soon as I get my business off the ground I'm going to sign up for one. Every professional athelete has a coach.

If you are thinking about it just try it out.
