Where is Mercedes?

Lexus together with daughter brand Toyota topped 9 of 19 categories. No Star can be seen anywhere .

Yeah, that's sad. What's it based upon? Required service incidents?

If I remember correctly (this study was released over a week ago) MB finished around 17 or 18 overall, and did have fewer problems reported than the industry average. Obviously not where we expect to see MB, but it is an improvement over where they were finding themselves in previous years. Hopefully this is proof that they are getting their quality issues under control. This survey is more meaningful because it measures 3 years of ownership. The Initial Quality survey measure only 3 months of ownership.

That is interesting. The last model year for Olds was 2004, so I suppose there could still be some of their cars eligible for this 3-year study.

Seems kind of like dead candidates being elected to public office, doesn't it?

Mercedes is probably in denial that they didn't make that list (just like with the harness problem...it didn't exist either)

Just makes you want to run right out and buy a new Bravada, doesn't it?

And then go screech the tires in honor of good old American ingenuity.

Trouble with that would be the next door neighbors wouldn't be able to tell if you just bought a new car or rented one.

Wait a minute, a NEW Oldsmobile? <raises eyebrow>

My dealer is very proud...

I was at the dealer the other week buying parts when I overheard him saying to a woman looking at the new C class

"we were ranked 25th last year but now we have gone up into the teens!"

For the money a new ones costs, they should be #1 or at most #2...

I think I will stick to buying parts...

Reminds me of the movie Coming to America, in which Louie Anderson works at a knock-off of McDonalds, and explains to Semi "I'm only on Fries now...but pretty soon I'll be assistant manager....and that's when the big bucks start rolling in"

An ultra conservative car guide.

Ever notice there are no Ferraris on there?

Review would read:

- no trunk space
- not a good family car
- dismal fuel mileage
- expensive servicing
- harsh ride
- limited dealer service
- high insurance cost
