Netflixed the documentary a few weeks ago about the anthropologist who engaged in cannibalism. (Keep the River on your Right??) Well worth watching. Raises lots of interesting ethical questions.

When I was a freshman living in the dorm there was a really unusual fellow who everybody shunned. I felt sorry for him and made it a point to talk to him when we were hanging around in one of the rooms in my hall. So one day I was sitting there next to him and somebody started talking about self abuse. The guy turned to me and said "I did that once to my dog...I felt sorry for him so I did it for him". I said "oh". Not satisfied, he turned to the whole room and blurted it out so everyone could hear. Nobody said anything. After that I ignored him too.
