Do you use Esurance?

i thought it was a good idea to go with esurance, and have learned a valuable lesson in doing so. i thought how convenient, able to do all online. well i bought the policy on 05-31-2007 inorder to qualify for a vehicle loan. had to have full coverage incase of an accident. so i paid received all my documents id cards etc..
well as some of you may know, i had an accident on 06-27-07, i submitted a claim and was told my policy was inactive and set to begin on 07-01-2007, they went so far as to tell me this is the date i selected!! i explained i never would have selected that date knowing i would be driving the car immediately, i was financing it the same day. so basically now they say i am on my own, they won't even assist me with a rental.
just wanted to post this to inform others of their practices.

Ouch, that sux big time! I have been tempted to try them, or some of the other online sources. I've got Allstate and pay too much, but my agent is right up the street from me and all it takes is a phone call for a change or addition and he shows up at my house or my desk with the necessary paperwork in his hand. I guess there is something to be said for that.

Wow, it's like Sicko for cars!!!

Seriously, I am sorry to hear that. At least now you know why their rates are so low!

Does your state have an Insurance Commissioner? You may want to get in touch with their office and see if they can offer you any help.

You mean tell the State Insurance Department that you were an uninsured motorist?

Not sure if that's a great idea.

I'm sorry you had to go through this. I won't do anything regarding insurance unless I have a live person at the end of the phone...I have had Liberty mutual for the past 30 years and love them.

That brings up an interesting question - did you get another policy through a different provider, or are you going to stick with Esurance?

Your documents should state very clearly when your coverage begins and ends. What do they say?

That hot-looking cartoon spokesbabe lures you into a sense of euphoria until you sign the paperwork, then BAM! GOTCHA!

All kidding aside, check the print on your paperwork. is there anything that says effective date 0701/07? Or 05/31/07 as you initiated?

On that note, is it just me or has she had a breast reduction since the ads first started?

I'm glad I am not the only one who felt that way.
