So the French Pres. is asked what the biggest crisis in the world is and he replies: Iran's nuclear program. Thinks it is bad enough to consider a military attack. Hmmmmm. I thought it was American Imperialism? People here in the States have been telling me that the rest of the world thought the US was the ultimate bad guy and now the much maligned French say it isn't so. I'm so confused

Finally the French have woken up to what is happening in the world and it looks like their new president and government is going to be pushing for much tighter relations with the USA. In fact the USA is the country he most admires!

That being said, my German friends are in a state of shock and cannot believe how this guy got elected.

The US and France have historically had good relations. It was only after WWII that De Gaulle started the "stooopid Americains" mantra. I guess that was because we had to liberate his country for him and he was mad or ashamed.

I for one will welcome a closer relationship with France, especially if the UK looses it's way under Gordon Brown.

As for Iran, if they get nukes, they will be a threat to the entire world. It would not take much to ship one to France on an oil tanker.

They have also stated that they would have no problem nuking Israel and with starting a nuclear war between Israel and Iran. That could not be good for anybody.

Maybe if the French, which have had good relations with the Mullahs and the government in Tehran, put enough pressure on them, they will back down.
