That's a solid question.
1) Under any thinkable and/or unthinkable circumstances, I wouldn't make a statement in writing and post it on this or any other public internet forum. Hope is closely related to dignity. Comprende?

2) Let's have another thread and define "hope" first. I bet we'll get to see a nice variety of descriptions.

3) Even though "hope" is an individual experience, I don't think one can rate a person's level or quality of it over the level or quality of another person.

What are those people thinking? One used to hear a joke now and then about someone in the Vatican going to the Pope saying "I have good news and bad news. The good news is Jesus has returned. The bad news is he called from Salt Lake City." I have to give a few folks in my ward credit for speaking out against such arrogance.

I don't want to be the nonstop misanthrope. But there is just too much sneering in our land at any notion that we may be gradually, inexorably damaging the foundations of our very lives.

This business of always saluting every facet of supposed progress is just too myopic.
