This place called Desert Moon which is .3 miles from my house is like some new style mexican place... chain of course

Well for 7$ you get a burrito the size of a new born... with your choice of fillings, steak, chicken... then rice, potatoes, beans, etc etc

yea.. I selected a double stuffed steak with rice, potatoes, guacamole, sour cream and... smothered in queso... it must have weighed 4 lbs.. .I ate the entire thing... and had nightmares for 3 days and couldnt like eat at all because I was soo sick from it

I have been to FL quite a bit over the years, never had a really memorable meal. IMHO the best place I have been to food wise is NY city.

I miss Cambodian.

Phnom Penh Cambodian in San Francisco, outer Geary near 4th avenue

The real deal. The Pope ate dinner there when he was in town. So did Bill Clinton.

Prices the neighbors can afford... Cambodian native dances performed on Saturday night.....gringos can sit at tables, not on the floor

I will have

Lemon Grass salad

coconut soup

five spice chicken

Satay beef skewers

Vietnamese "Cafe sua da" iced coffee

oh its heaven. the French colonial touch hits the spot

Two places qualify. One is the Highlands Garden Cafe in Denver, Colorado, which my wife and I use as our special event restaurant. Terrific food, great atmosphere.

The other place is Kinkead's, in Washington D.C. Haven't been there in the last four years, but that was our favorite place when we lived in the D.C. area.

For regular food? There is a terrific chain of burger places in the D.C. area called Five Guys. Loved that place. Wish we had them out west.

They were good about 10 years ago when my wife and I were out there... love good salsa.

My grill, on the back porch, overlooking the mighty Saint Joseph River, across the river from welfare hell.

Yep, there's lots of places to eat that suck, but the problem is that I don't usually notice it as a particular place, but just franchises in certain areas. My small town has a ton of restaurants and almost all of the late night places (Perkins, Denny's, IHOP) all stink. The service is the worst, though luckily I haven't gotten sick from anything here...yet.

Personally my favorite place to eat is Bahama Breeze. Haven't heard of them? Look 'em up. It's a Darden restaurant (Olive Garden, Red Lobster).

I suppose my favorite chain is cracker barrell.

The best local restaurant is La Scala, an italian run by Paco who is of Mexican ancestory!

Everything is excellent.

There is a little mom and pop place in Battleground, a little burg near here, called CJ's that serves great steaks, and ribs. It also sells a lot of catfish (not to me). It is easy to get into on Friday evening, the portions are large, prices low and you can get in and out in 45 min.

If I am really in a hurry and feeling cheap I do Wendys, Asian chicken salad, Burger king for a whopper or whopper junior or Arbys for a Market fresh sandwich. The relatively new italian style sandwich at Wendy's is pretty good too.

Benton Harbor is pretty sad. We drive through from time to time. I suppose there was once some industry there for folks to have work at. Now it appears not many are working. There is a magnificent (architecturally) old terra cotta faced bank in the (very dead) down town.

A good number of other interesting old buildings there too.

The Maywood in Montpelier, OH.
http://www.themaywoodrestaurant.com/

Just a tiny hole in the wall, but a very, very popular place. They focus on fresh food sources, new recipes, and wine and beer from small vineyards and breweries.

To me the place is top, top shelf.
