If some company patents a gene sequence and I have that same sequence, do they owe me a royalty or do I owe them a royalty?

That's an interesting question that has been posed in several books I 've read recently. Apparently, a company could patent or copyright YOUR genes and sell it without giving you squat. At least that seemed to be the thinking.
Not that you would want squat. Hell, I'm not even sure what "squat" is, but it doesn't sound too good. Maybe you could get bupkas instead . . . |
