OK,,,, big fine,,, and their Constructor championship points for 2007 are gone (congrats Ferrari). Someone want to tell me why Lewis and Fernando have been allowed to keep their driver points?

Seems silly,,, surely the drivers have benefitted from any technical spying/shinnanigans that took place,,, they should be parked for the year IMO.

Mercedes loyalty only goes so far with me when it comes to cheating.

Mystery solved:

From FIA statement,,,,
“However, due to the exceptional circumstances in which the FIA gave the team’s drivers an immunity in return for providing evidence, there is no penalty in regard to drivers’ points."

Seems Lewis and/or the Garden Gnome turned rat!

I suppose the drivers had nothing to do with it.

If $100 MILLION is paid,,, I guess they truly are the big boys. Yet F1 drivers are flocking to NASCAR. What's THAT all about ?

Only room for 22 drivers in F1. Plus I wouldn't say they are "flocking" to NASCAR LOL!

I have absolutely no interest in NASCAR but blue collar cheating like foreign substances in intake manifolds is more interesting news than white collar industrial espionage.

I sure would like to see an accounting of how that $100M fine is spent.

The FIA investigation and subsequent fine has absolutely nothing to do with the boy Bernie. This is a common misconception,, Bernies role as CEO of Formula One Management and his control (err,, influence) over the sport in general is somewhat complicated.

The fine will be 'paid' by withholding Television $$ etc. that would normally be paid to McLaren over the next xx years,,, it's unlikely that McLaren will actually pay a single cent directly to FIA.
