sure not in the shape I was before I dislocated My knee

I ran with a large group of people tonight after work. I was afairly strong runner seven months ago. I dislocated my knee in may and found a frusterating and slow recovery. I have just now gotten the running shoes out again in the last six weeks. The runners high feels good, but I'm not nearly in the pre marathon state I was in before the injury.

Good to hear you're on the way to recovery.

They say if you have a good base you should be fine.

Have you tried using an elliptical trainer for zero-impact cardio? A lot of people use them during rehabilitation after injuries.

I haven't...I find real joy in getting out and running in the beautiful Oregon fall wether. Probably a better idea though.

nh500sl, you'll be back in tip-top shape in no time.

I haven't caught a runner's high in years.

One of the reason I pretty much gave it up. On an 8 mile run, I'd catch it at about 5 miles, man what a feeling. After a few years the euphoria subsided. Increasing mileage didn't do it. Maybe I fried the receptors.

Time to move onto other forms of cardio - once the knee loosens up.

Long live New Balance 992's. Maybe a diff brand like Asics will get me back into it.
