Yeah, I've talked to this guy in Mexico about my projects. He has been selling those jet packs for a while now. Definitely a nice millionaire toy. The fuel which is 95% H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) is not cheap to buy or distill. It's actually pretty simple to build a jet pack. I'd say no more than $12K. It just uses a silver catalyst in the combustion chamber to brake down the H2O2 molecule which is injected via a pressurized tank. Pretty simple stuff.

30 seconds? Whats the big deal? Sounds like a waste to me. Where you going in 30 seconds? 10 seconds probably just for landing safely. Death trap for sure.

Wait 6 months they will come down in price. I wonder if the propane model comes with a warning"Do Not Eat At Taco Bell For At Least 30 minutes Before Take-Off."

Ouch....

Well – I waited until last night and the neighbors came over for cocktails to bring it up.

It wasn’t pretty. I was out numbered 3 to 1.

Maybe I’ll take it up with Santa.

Ditto. Oh boy, a 200 lb guy with a jet pack is liable to land on me while I'm minding my business on the sidewalk.

The jet pack should stay on the pages of sci fi. Impractical raised to the 27th power.

Wow 4 to 1 –

Funny, I didn’t see you there……

Put a female with an English accent behind those words and you’re almost dead on.

Sounds fun (ever since Connery's in Thunderball) but the risk of failure is too high because you'd be crashing to the ground WITH the fuel and no safety systems whatsoever.

Why is the one made in Mexico $100,000 more?

Every time they tested one in Mexico it had to be retrieved in Texas. That adds up.
