Talking Now I can buy guns!

Since I am still living at home, much to my chagrin. As soon as I can afford to I'm gone, but probably not for another year or two...

Anyone my mom really hates guns, so I came up with the perfect solution. My buddy is shopping for a place, so I'll buy a safe, and keep them at his place! He is going to do the same thing, and hide a bike their as well.

This way we can own things that our parents may frown upon, and not take any flack! Cars, boats, bikes, guns, girls, etc.

House $350k
Safe $200
Weapons $2,000
Bike $10,000

Not taking flack from your parents=priceless!

You could move out the flack quicker if you didn't blow your money on toys.

At this stage in your young life, concentrate on saving your money for important things, like a house. Houses go up in value over time, although in the short term prices have gone down. Forget buying things that can kill you, like motorcycles and guns. The tempation will be to drive the bike way too fast or drive around with guns in your car, which is a temptation to use it or wave it around at someone and a trip to jail. Cops don't like finding guns in peoples cars. Cops are excellent at reading peoples facial expressions and body language. You don't have enough experience in that area yet.

You're living at your parents house so follow their rules and don't screw up. I presume they are also funding your higher education too, keep your mind centered on graduating. It's not forever so just hang in there.

If you really want to learn proper firearm safety and techniques, join the military. (you could get your a$$ shot off though)

You'll shoot your eye out!

I agree with keeping your expenditures in check, I know all to well how it can spiral . But compared to myself at your age, you seem to have things pretty well in order. Might be best to get that gun permit before the first felony conviction, though.

Calm down there, Hatt. You might want to take a glance at that long-term plan of yours and see where this expenditure fits.

Oh come on guys. what's the harm in a gun or two? Sheesh. You guys don't frown upon Hattie spending thousands of hard earned money on his German stable. I have had guns and I never carried them in my car or pulled em out and waved em in someones face and one of them was an AK47 with a 70 round drum magazine!!

Your Sheriffs or Police department should allow you to store guns for free, keeping your own guns in any other persons possession is asking for trouble.

Most of us own guns. Many of us own several guns. Some of us own many guns. The ownership isn't the issue. It's the prioritization -- would you rather stay with your folks and own a gun or move out?

Not much of a safe for $200

My parents never gave me any flack. I have been riding bikes since the age of 7. When I turned 16 I wanted a street bike to which they said no. The next year I went out and bought one anyway. They didn't have much to say about it. Same with guns. I hunted from an early age and was always taught how to handle a gun properly. My father bought me a shotgun at age 10.

I don't want a bike, it will be his. Bikes are to dangerious, I don't really feel like getting run down and killed by some idiot not paying attention.

Why would I carry a gun around in my car? Thats a bad idea, really bad idea. The only time I ever carried a gun in my car it was to the range and back, or to the gun shop. It was locked in the trunk in a case and I either had zero ammunition, or if I did I kept that inside the car. I beleive in CT you have to keep them sepret, I don't want to take any chances.

I want to collect some vintage WW2 era rifles and some black powder muzzle loaders. The most modern thing I want is an M14. But I think I'll get a K98 first. How the heck is buying a $500 rifle going to keep me from moving out any sooner? School is whats killing me now, I can't freaken work more than 25-30 hours a week or I start to fail classes. How am I supposed to start and run a RE business freaken part time. I have been cheating though, last week I put in 40 hours, but I'm paying for it now, off to do some last minute homework.

My buddy wants to use this as a hang out pad, and rent out the other two units to pay for most of it. For various family reasons he is still going to be around home, for awhile. Eventualy he will probably get a SFH to live in. But he wants a bike, his parents have said quite clearly not in this house. So he is going to buy a house problem solved! Same thing with my gun collecting, well problem solved.

FYI 50% of what I make (when I do start making money) will be put in a totaly seperate account for investing. Mostly in RE at this point, but probably eventualy into a Roth IRA or some sort of paper as well. Ever since I was a little kid I always saved 50% of my money, why change now?

On a side note, it's VERY fun to watch a guy accidently point his rifle in a direction other then downrange during running fire, and get taken the **** DOWN by a D/S

I laughed, cause he was an idiot

Good luck with the house and guns.

UMMMMM, we only store your guns for you if we seize them as evidence or for safe keeping. Never heard of any department storing guns as a courtesy.
