Kuan made a good point about testing on site and of course there is the Kosher and Hilal butchers that probably are better. I don't eat meat and after the bird flu thing decided I should probably just stick to eating nuts and berries.

Can you taste the difference with a double blind test? I can't.

i think RLEO started a thread about this already, grain fed vs. grass fed.

If both steers are of the same marbled quality it's hard to tell the difference.

Just call me captain obvious.

Hence I asked about the double blind test. The wife had a pair of glasses that she replaced with another pair. Well, the new pair was way heavier than the old one and gave her all sorts of issues. How does she know? Well, the old set was way smaller than the new ones. Finally I had enough. I had her meet me at school where we used a very, very accurate scientific balance. Guess what? The bigger pair was LIGHTER than the smaller one. Since that day, I, Dr AKLIM have cured the issues with the "heavier" pair of glasses.

I've done this, and yes I do get the difference although if I am being 100% honest it is as much about the texture as the taste. Especially with the chicken. It just feels different when you chew it.

I mean if I gave you two identically prepared meats by my wife. I don't even know which is which. Only she does. Would you be able to consistently say "Sample A is this and Sample B is that."? I have had her do a blind study and I can't tell which is which.

Another question to ask is what my meat has been in.

I understood what you said the first time. When I tried this comparison (with both ground beef and chicken breasts) I was able to determine the difference correctly, not knowing which was which when it was served to me. What can I tell you? I've got a good pallette (I'm quite good with wine as well). I have no idea if you'd be able to tell the difference or not. I know I can.
