So. California Fires

I hope its not as bad as it looks on the news. Does anyone have first-hand information?

0% contained after all that effort sounds pretty serious.

I woke up to this.......The whole town of Ramona has been evacuated.
It's about 13 miles south west of me.....

Things are getting pretty hairy in San Diego County!!!...We have fires all around us....here's a update pic............... The wind is really blowing

Hatterasguy 10-22-2007 02:11 PM

That sucks. Everything is so dry.

We had a nice fire start right by exit 41 on I95 last week. Some moron threw a cigarette but out the window, gee that was bright. I wish they could figure out who it was an slam them with the bill for putting it out.

When did these fires start? I left SD friday night (spent the day on the harbor and have the receipts to prove it!) and didn't hear anything about them but holy crap, do they look big!

Den. 10-23-2007 11:14 AM

Hopefully those in that area are okay.

Matt, you still with us?

Does anyone know if Sun City is affected? I don't "know" Cali and have a friend there. I guess I should PM him on my own forum and see if he's okay.

Everyone that's down there, best wishes and take care of yourselves.

A lot of people have wondered where you were. I'd have suggested a vacation someplace else, (San Francisco came to mind) ...:D....till the heat died down.

It's good you are OK, that conflagration sure looked pretty close to your home from the photos you snapped.

Den. 10-23-2007 12:03 PM

Thanks Matt. I appreciate it. I sent him an email and haven't heard back yet so this is great.

Spamman, sorry to hear things are bad. keep in touch when you can.

Actually, its worse than what you see on the news. And much worse than the fires we dealt with four years ago....

Everyone I know has either evacuated, or is housing an evacuee or two. Myself included.

Last I heard, 500,000 folks have been forced to evacuate. Officials are recommending another 12,000 evacuate.
