I have found that any chili recipe can be improved with the addition of unsweetened cocoa powder (unless it has it already). It smooths out the flavor and deepens the color.
 Cocoa and chilis are supposedly in the same family and the opposite works too. Put some chili powder in your chocolate cake or hot cocoa and enjoy the extra zip.

I always put a lot of cayenne pepper, chili powder, bourbon, kidney beans, ground beef, onions, green peppers, and brown sugar in my chili. It seems to be quite popular around here.

What recipe, I just kind of follow a rough idea.
But my special uses Turkey instead of beef. Actually usually 2/3->3/4 Turkey remainder Beef. Grilled Turkey is my favorite !!!! Gonna make a batch soon using a couple of Beer Can Chickens.

It's probably tantamount to culinary blasphemy but I've always loved the chili recipe on the back of the French's Chili-O mix...
Pack of spices Pound of burger Can of diced or chunk tomatos Can of chili beans Cook for like 30 min... Done!

Chili recipies...don't make my own, but my Mom's is awesome. She also puts some bittersweet dark chocolate in it (as chad300 mentioned).
