1974 Plymouth Satellite Sebring "Sundance Edition"
Oh man, why didn't I get one of these back in the day?
I could have pulled a Farrah Fawcett feather haired fox and got a virulent dose of herpes within hours after I bought one. Forget those Ford Maverick "Grabbers" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() http://jalopnik.com/cars/down-on-the-street/1974-plymouth-satellite-sebring-sundance-edition-272181.php

you should have seen the Baroque version of that body style. It had a stand up Monte Carlo style grill and a padded top. This gal I dated for a while had one. That body style when it first came out, maybe around 68 was lean and clean, and it was what Richard Petty drove right after the superbirds were outlawed. It really pained me.
This was pretty bad too. Those were tough times for automotive styling in the US. Fins had become Cliched here and the stylists were groping around, really. Tom W

I liked the '71, with the horse collar bumper.

Anyone ever see a "hang 10" dart/duster? My friend had one a while ago. Probably still sitting in his yard rotting. I had my buggy at a car show this summer and a local guy pulled up in a mint, 1 owner Hang 10. Nothing really special either, just some stripes and fold down seats.

I've only purchased two brand new cars in my life. One was a '73 Satellite Sebring Plus (not a Sundance edition) and the other was my '74 240D.
the 73 and 74 model Sebrings were virtually identical. Mine was a golden-brown metalic color with a black vinyl top. I ordered it with the rally wheels, 400cid 4-bbl, limited slip rear, and even the sport steering wheel. When I traded it it in, the dealer wanted to knock the price because he didn't believe me that the steering wheel was original... That thing would absolutely SCOOT! The main reason I sold it was the mid-70's gas crunch... The Mercedes cost me twice as much but was 10 times the car. I kept the 240D for 20 years...
