"Co-Founder Dave Liniger Reveals the History of RE/MAX on TV Series

(Denver, CO November 29, 2007) “History’s Business,” a weekly half hour series on The History Channel®, has just completed an episode featuring the beginning and rapid growth of the RE/MAX organization. The first broadcast of this episode can be seen on Sunday, December 2 at 8:00AM ET. Producers say the series “explores the history of American business through in- depth conversations with today’s most influential leaders.”

Co-Founder and Chairman Dave Liniger recently traveled to New York to be interviewed in The History Channel’s studios by program host Geoff Wawro. In front of their cameras, Liniger related the unique story of RE/MAX from its unassuming start in 1973 as a small office in Denver, Colorado, to today’s global real estate franchise network, with a presence in over 65 countries.

Liniger said “It really is the story of an American dream. We started RE/MAX with nothing, but an idea we believed in and we worked hard to make it happen. Everyone told us it wouldn’t work and it wouldn’t go anywhere, but here we are after 33 years of continuous growth. We built a great team, and it proves that the power of dedicated people can’t be underestimated.”

In addition to telling the story of his company, “History’s Business” also portrays Liniger as a one-of-a-kind adventurer and philanthropist. Viewers will learn about his experiences as a NASCAR driver, round-the-world balloonist, and pilot. They will also learn how Liniger has provided generous support to a variety of causes, and has even built a state-of-the-art wildlife art museum and theater in the Denver area.

Today, Liniger and his wife, RE/MAX Co-Founder Gail, still oversee the day-to-day operation of the organization and they keep a very busy travel schedule. They have both received numerous industry and philanthropic awards and are always in demand as public speakers. “We’re very proud to have had such an impact on our industry,” Linger said. “We feel that especially in the areas of technology and training, RE/MAX is truly on the cutting edge. We’re grateful to everyone on our team, and we’re looking forward to even greater accomplishments in the future.”
