Hasn't the NFL been doing a credible job of policing themselves? I don't know the answer to that question, but it might have something to do with MLB's current pickle.
I'm just glad that A Rod and Ken Griffey, Jr., haven't been mentioned as dopers. I say A Rod because I am a Yankees fan and an A Rod fan and he is such a lightening rod for criticism. I am glad that Ken Griffey, Jr., is not on the list because he is my favorite baseball player and a complete class act. He's a credit to the game. I would hate to see any tarnish on his legacy. |

Personally, I don't give a $h!t as long as it's a level playing field from here on out. MLB and the Players Association didn't see fit to have a policy in place, which is what brought them under the microscope, and some players took advantage of that. Plus it's a lot of heresay and circumstantial evidence. But what's done is done. The biggest surprise name for me was Albert Puljols. One absence that surprised me was Gabe Kapler. I thought for sure he was juicing. |
People don't mind if their NFLers are juicing. It's assumed.

Who gives a rat's patooty that athletes do drugs? Its just entertainment. No one chides the movie stars for getting boob lifts or face jobs, or butt tucks. The fact that rock stars do drugs only adds to their cache. If people are worried about their poor little kids being influenced by athletes on drugs then we have to ban all plastic surgery on stars. I think most parents would crap themselves if they could see and hear what kids are exposed to in school and on the web. Bulked up athletes are the least of our worries. Try worrying about why little Johnny can't read and do simple math, why he can't locate his own state on a map, or why he doesn't know where Europe is.
Whether it is the Olympics, major league baseball, football, basketball, or even curling it is ONLY entertainment, not life and death. |
"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.
This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again. Oh people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come." |

Is there a racial component to this? I tend to think not, but Sally Jenkins thinks there is: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/12/17/AR2007121702194.html
(The article is too long to post here and I am too lazy to split it up) |
More fiddling while Rome is burning: there are way more important things to care about than MLB and Brittany Spears...............
By the way, McCarthy was right about the reds in Hollywood....... |
