I met the niced police officer yesterday

on my way to work.

He stopped me to inform me the
speed limit was only 45mph.

and that I was doing 70

in a construction zone

and he was very concerned about my safety

and I really should be more careful about changing lanes
and using my turn signals when I do.

and I should always wear my seat belt.

I don't think I'm gonna fight the ticket.........

the only one he gave my was for not wearing a seat belt.

OH, Happy Day

similar thing happened to my brother. pulled over in a construction zone doing 57 in a 35; officer explained why he was stopping him and said something like "if you were'nt wearing your belt i could just give you a ticket for that...". my brother was a little slow and told him "but i WAS wearing it", so the cop gave him a look like "are you sure?", finally it clicked in, pardon the bad pun, and he only got the ticket for not wearing a seatbelt!

My car does not move unless the belt is fastened.

It has been that way since about 1965 or so. In the early years I owned a fintail that didn't have any though.

Dawg! You were VERRRY lucky. I don't know about Florida, but in VA you can get a huge fine just for the speeding part in a construction zone, $500.00 I think.

I got a $200.00 ticket recently for being in an HOV lane. I didn't realize that it was HOV, but the cop that I ran into was not very nice . . . You've got to be REALLY careful in VA. Both here and in the District, traffic fines are considered a key form of tax revenue.

I just finished paying off the 2nd speeding ticket I've gotten since 5 years ago...the 2nd one was for 64 in a 45...

Honest! I've driven that particular strip for OVER 18 YEARS and I NEVER NOTICED the TWO POSTED SPEED SIGNS SAYING 45 MPH!!

AAMOF, I had to drive the path TWICE to see the second sign, posted directly across the roadway from the 1st sign!

D U H ! !

Man...I need my eyes checked and REALLY NEW GLASSES!

BTW, the ticket was only $86.80...vs. the 1st ticket for 16 over in a 65 for $236.30, knocked down to $186.00 even...

Puts a personal dent in my own X-mas spending this season...

Merry-Christmas to us lead-foots!!!

( I'm driving MUCH BETTER now!! )

I was pulled over by a state trooper about four months ago. Very polite, professional and gave a me a ticket for speeding because I was, well, speeding like a mad man. Nothing personal and I appreciated it. Now if I were drunk, driving a little faster, had an attitude problem and grabbed for his gun I would expect a full on beat down.

I picked up a '52 Ford F 2 for the flathead last week end in North Jersy. Met some very nice neighbors of the guy who was selling. One of them volunteed his experience---when the NJ state police stop you, the proper answer is NOT, " Don't you have anything better to do?"

I recently got my first ticket in probably 25 years.

The biggest b!+ch of it is, the ticket was computer generated by a frigging electronic device hidden in a van on the side of road.
It is a minimal fine of $40 for going 36 mph in a 25 mph zone. They mailed me a photo of my rear end & everything.

speed trap

That is nothing, in college, I got written for going 27 mph in a 25 mph zone on Russell Blvd in Davis, California, in my '64 Chevelle.

I heard later on that the whole town's budget was basically funded by this kind of thing, and the JP had never gone to college, and he hated students, in that University town.

That town was just unbelievable in Orientation week, every year

I got pulled over for the first time last June for doing 36 in a 25 on an empty street. However, there were no speed limit signs ANYWHERE....so he said "well, slow down from now on", and let me go. Very nice guy.

I usually never go much more than 5-6 over in the city, just enough so I keep up with the rest of traffic.

Freeway though, I have to be careful sometimes.

I got a ticket just about a year ago. I cop said Iwas doing 92 in a 55 zone. He gave me a ticket for failing to obey a traffic device. I was really lucky that it was like midnight or I think the guy would have arrested me. I think they have to going that much over the limit.
I had actually slowed down I was doing around 100 for many miles. He stopped me about 2 miles outside Bunnell, I didn't realise I was so close or I would have slowed down.

Danny
