Ever carried a 722.303 tranny up a ladder?

Yep, my dad just carried our spare tranny up an aluminum ladder onto a shelf 7ft off the ground in our garage, by himself. Just thought I'd share that. Even still had the fluid in it....

No. If I were your dad, you would have carried it up the ladder!

LOL. I could never do it. I can carry it around at waist height for a ways, but can't get it higher than that. He's a gorilla! And he's 48!

So he's two years older than me. I'm still not slinging transmissions around. I prefer keyboard work.

I would find a lower shelf space. If that shelf were to go, whoops, there goes my favorite left foot.

That said, your old man is a strong ol' boy.

HA! No, But I did install one by bench pressing it up from my creeper. Almost dropped the damn thing on my face! I sanded and greased the nub on the TC to insure it would slide right in so I didn't have to fight it though. Trannys are a B!+@# when you don't have a lift and trans jack.

Oh man, I did my 325 beemer tranny a few years back and I swear it was heavier than my International Travelall 3 speed I had in and out several times back in the early 70s.

Good Lord, I didn't think I was ever going to get that thing in. I sure felt it in my arms the next day.

He's a translator/sales person by profession. Keyboard work.

Those trannys are heavy......one of these days I am going to get injured....

Perhaps I should start working out. I only weigh about 20lbs more than the tranny does.

It sounds like he exceeded the capacity of the ladder!

It wouldn't have been a pretty thing if a side rail had collapsed.

I wouldn't trust an aluminum ladder for anything more than its rating.

My buddy's dad sold the Dodge 318 engine from his motorhome. When the buyer showed up, he asked 'Pop' if he could see the engine, which was in the garage.

Pop and the potential buyer walked back to the garage. The buyer looked it over, said "OK" and asked if Pop would move his motor home out of the driveway so the buyer could could back his truck up to the garage.

As the buyer was walking out to his truck, he turned around and Pop was carrying the engine out behind him, barehanded!

Pop used to work in a foundry, and by the time he quit he could load 650 lbs of scrap iron into a blast furnace in a single lift.

By buddy and I never, ever lipped off to Pop.
