WOO - HOO! Got me a female yoga teacher rider on Craigslist rideshare

My sister and brother in law moved to Boise a few years back and they've been pestering me to go there for Christmas at least once.

Usually I go to OlyWA for the holy-days and getting a car-full is a snap on Craigslist.

Lucky me, I've got two riders so far and maybe one other for the return, so possibly 2 or 3 total on return. I was afeared I might get no one. I mean the route to Boise is not like the I-5 corridor. IME, ladies get a kick out of my Bimmer hot rod. A lot of them have never driven one before.

Gonna leave early in the a.m., I've not driven but a small amount of this route before and I want to see it.

Haven't met the lady yet and I don't want to jinx it by speculating TOO much.

This thread is utterly *worthless* without pictures

Have a good trip and a happy holiday too.

It's good to hear the timing chain issue with the 325 is presumably all straightened out, now.

I hope there is no black ice on the roads around there. I once almost dumped an almost brand new (8,000 miles) '84 500SEC AMG euro on its head when I hit black ice for the first time in my life, at 60 mph, near Cheyenne the week before Christmas.

That stuff is horrible.

Car's running great. Got the busted power steering mounting bracket replaced -- had to tap the block for one of the bolts, found a low miles PS pump at the boneyard and the noise is all gone.

Oops, black ice. Don't think I want to get snow tires but I better at least have my chains in the trunk.

Well, I hate to tell you but it's the hottest car I've owned yet.

When I was a kid in NM, child of the 60s, if it wasn't 300 cu.in. +, V-8, it was wimpy. I never would have believed that a 152 cu.in. 6 would be my hot rod.

I'm telling, the young ladies get hot rod fever driving it. One lady, I was in the shotgun seat, she was going up hill in 5th gear, I could hear it lugging, tach said 1800, I told her, "under 2000, going uphill -- downshift." She made a sound like "oh god, I'm such a dummy." Then I told her to keep it around 3000 to 3500. Within a half hour, she was pulling a Juan Manuel Fangio at Nurburgring impression. We were on 101, N. Cal. going through the redwoods and foothills -- twisty roads, about 6 to 7 am, traffic was light. I don't usually go that route, she had to be dropped at some small town, I forget, in Mendicino county, I think. It was just the two of us, the other two riders had been dropped off in Eugene, OR.

We'd driven all night, I was at the wheel tween Grants Pass, OR and Crescent City, CA, well from Eugene on, but the road cutting down to the coast is a cool highway. It was great -- twisty road, almost no traffic, I had my high beams on and this car has the best high beams I've ever seen, I was cutting apexes, oh man, I was doing the Stirling Moss at Nurburgring thing.

She was nice, not totally babe like but a man could do a lot worse, tall strong girl. Never saw her again. Oh well. But she dug it, I could tell. We had breakfast at her town, oh yeah, Willits, about 10,000 pop. I'd guess. Little one of a kind greasy spoon. Biscuits and gravy. Sweet.
