New Computer
After a long time thinking and planning for getting a new computer, I bought one.
Ladies and germs, I bought a Mac Pro. Its pretty sweet, and its really, really fast! I think its speced out pretty nicely. Its got like 4 gigs of ram, and lots of space.... LEt me know.. Also, are there any chat programs that I can connect to like 3 aim accts at once? |
nice... macbook pro eh
I'm stuck between that and a 24" iMac |
Not Macbook Pro. Mac Pro.
The Desktop. |
ah... did you splurge on an apple display?
|
Sounds like alot of money ($3000+) for a personal computer. What will you use it for?
|
Bought it for Garageband. LOL.
Final Cut Studio. I bought to edit together videos. so far... shopforum and itunes. lol. I dont like the apple displays... There is one sitting on my floor that came with the computer though. |
ooo ... Maybe I should get a mac mini and buy that off of you?
If I bought a mac pro I would get a Dell display. they are very nice and cost a lot less than an apple |
I got Samsung Flatpanels. They are sweet.
Sorry don, my dad and I have an agreement where I am giving him the display that came with the computer. Its not a fancy screen. Its like a 20 inch display. |
damn...its cool... those samsungs are nice.. how many inches?
|
This computer makes tons of odd and weird noises, some that I have never heard before.
What cool applications are out there for mac? |

As of Nov 2007 it's the fastest computer in the world.
IBM BlueGene/L Location: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Processor Type: PowerPC 440 700 MHz (2.8 GFlops) Number of processors: 212,992 Main Memory: 73,728 GB Disk space: 1.9 petabytes Peak Speed: 596 teraFLOPS Check out the slanted front panels that are needed for cooling. This is just what you need to dash off some predictive, fully integrated 3D nuclear weapons calculations. Or maybe to answer those nagging plutonium aging questions that keep you up nights. More info here |
Does it have solitaire?
|
Those panels used to be straight.
Some guy got the bright idea to do space/time calculations. They calculated so fast, that the panels actually traveled forward in time - what you are seeing is not slanted panels, but a distortion of the space/time continuum. And if you believe that, I have some property in Northport to sell you. |
Looks like its in a clean room. Maybe not a full blown fab type room but those grates in the floor and ceiling are mostly likely an air handling system. Cool. RT
