It's Christmas Eve. What are you doing?
Are you at work today or taking the day off? I'm working in my office at home today. Well, sorta working. As you can see, I'm not working TOO hard.
My little buddy Leo is climbing all over me. This little cat is scaling my back, sitting onmy should for a minute and then launching himself over my desk and racing out the door. He's highly entertaining.  I guess I'll go wrap the last couple of remaining Christmas gifts and put them under the tree for the kids, then go get some candy for their stockings. I had bought two bags of chocolate candy for that purpose, hid it in a place known only to me, and I'll be damned if it didn't completely disappear!  I guess I'll have to remember to only buy candy at the last possible minute from now on.

Just heading out to the shop to work on the Dodge for a couple hours. Then it is off to the park for a long hike with the dog.
X-mas starts about 4 pm with tons of seafood ending with a dinner of steak and lobster. Presents are opened this evening. X-mas day brings a multi-family dinner about noon. Pretty low key these years. The days of purchasing 10-15 gifts is long gone. Happy Holidays to all!

I think we generally spend too much time and energy running ourselves ragged at Christmas time. As I get older, I'm trying to do less things, and just spend more quality time with the people that I love.
I hope everybody has a wonderful Christmas, Channukah, Kwanza, or day off from work.

At my job...working (or surfing) as we speak...
They might release us a couple of hours after lunch...planning on taking the family to the Christmas Eve services. Christmas will be quiet this year...no relatives or friends to visit or visiting. Gift purchasing was conservative this year...focus was on the reason for the season, not the annual retail insanity.

I am putting up the last bit of decorations and getting ready for my kids, mother, brother, sister-in-law, and their two small kids to arrive! My wife is busy in the kitchen and all sorts of great smells are coming from in there -- I am not allowed in there any longer
 She is making a 17 pound beef roast AND the Goose! I am drooling over here!I am doing the whole 'Bing Crosby Christmas" Roasting chestnuts in the fireplace, got a huge yule log to put in the fireplace, got Brian Setzer's "Dig that Crazy Christmas" on the HiFi right now... I will switch over to Der Bingle later this evening. We have the 10 foot tree in the dining room and the house is the best it gets all year! Later we will watch "It's a Wonderful Life" and "White Christmas" Then have a late dessert. I am going all out this year... Presents? I have not done that much in the form of gifts this year as I am in Washington while everybody else is in NY. This night is the present this year! To everybody--- HAVE A HAPPY CHRISTMAS! AND NEW YEAR!
