New Year's Eve?

What is everybody here doing for New Year's Eve this year? I have not formulated any clear plans so far. What will YOU be doing?

Hot pursuit of this little Irish girl that I've been chasing all year.

Amateur night.

No plans yet. I never found NYE night fun unless it was private party. Too expensive, too many people.

We've gotten fairly tame in our advanced years. We will be at home this year as opposed to someone else's house. We've got 2 families coming over, along with their kids. Fortunately for us they were smart enough to stop at 1 and 2 kids respectively

I'm going to break out the turkey fryer and whip up a few different kinds of chicken wings (prolly a spicy Buffalo, BBQ, a Cajun and maybe a Southern Fried) and they're going to bring along some side dishes and appetizers. A little wine, a little whisky, a little beer and the cliched glass of champagne after the ball drops.

We'll have the 4th annual cut-throat guys vs. gals Trivial Pursuit tourney, in which we are undefeated. I hope that it will help keep me awake once the clock moves past that 11:00 hour when my urge to crash on the couch will set in.

There are just too many idiots on the roads to risk heading out anymore, especially with kids in tow. Hartford actually does a great First Night celebration with different 1/2hr.-ish events, concerts and shows in various venues (so that you can attend a bunch and many are kid-friendly) through out the city followed by a huge fireworks display at midnight. As if hauling a bunch of kids around wasn't trying enough, the drunks on the road after that make the decision easy.

My wife and I and another couple are going to go to Hyena's (comedy club) for the 8pm show, hang out a bit afterward and beat the drunks home.

Do what Mrs B & I always do -- sleep through it. On New Years Day we'll cook a couple of porterhouse steaks and (of course) cabbage and black-eyed peas.

My friends parents always throw an awsome party, and there house is on a lake so nice view+deck thats heated. Awsome food, fireworks, alcohol, and people. I have yet to try a whisky sour so thats what I'm drinking most of the night.

Amateur night indeed. I drink 364 nights out of the year. I don't need to be going out and getting killed by a drunk driver. I'm staying at home.
