Borat...

Just wasn't funny, did I miss a memo or something??

It didn't look that interesting when it came out so I didn't see it, my friend said I have to see it so I borowed the DVD from him, and other then being dumb was totaly pointless. I'm surprised I sat through the whole thing, 1/2 in I was thinking about shutting it off. Lots of really, really cheap racial and political jokes. But just poorly done, South Park does it better!

Monty python is funny, South Park is funny, the Simpsons, Family Guy, American dad, Futurama they are all funny. Well except for Futurama its been played out, but when it first came out it was pretty funny!

Borat gets two thumbs down from me.

Borat star for new Spielberg film?

It has been reported that 'Borat' star Sacha Baron Cohen has been cast in the new Steven Spielberg film 'The Trial of the Chicago 7'.
The Sunday Times reports that Baron Cohen will play 1960s counterculture icon Abbie Hoffman in the film, which follows the anti-Vietnam War protesters who disrupted the 1968 Democrat party convention in the US.
Baron Cohen will next be seen on Irish cinema screens opposite Johnny Depp in the Tim Burton-directed 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street'.

It opens in Irish cinemas on Friday 25 January.

I thought it was hilarious, and judging by all the other people in the movie theatre, a lot of people did.

Don is right, I believe whatsisname was showing the mindset of certain people ( the old fella at the rodeo, the frat boys, etc)

I nearly wet my pants, several times.

Totally outrageous though.

Like Saturday night live was in the beginning but a lot more over the top.

I didn't think that Borat movie was funny, if it was, the fun was created exclusively on 'bad taste'.

I also noticed how many actually thought it was funny. No comment on that one.

Maybe I have a really poor sense of humor but I didn't find Boart funny in any sense, it was actually annoying at some points.

Humor appeal not unlike, the "Jackass" series.

E150GT 01-02-2008 08:16 AM

POS 01-02-2008 08:24 AM

I felt the same way with Napolean Dynamite as I did with Borat; overblown.

HBO or Pay Per View?

Different strokes fer different folks. I loved Borat and Napolean Dynamite. Monty Python I will have to take another look at. British humor is not as much "my cup of tea."

ForcedInduction 01-02-2008 10:03 AM

It is a stupid movie. Like the Jackass movies, you shouldn't watch it expecting a good plot and storyline you should watch it expecting to laugh your @ss off. :D
