That's 2 days before my Birthday. I'm curious, if this is going to make me any happier.

Ever watch the German dubbed version?
I laughed for 5 minutes straight, after hearing Rambo utter his first few sentences in German.

It's been a long time I watched this kind of stuff. Many movies turn out to be rather comical after lip-sinc. Some good, some mess up.

One of the reverse effects can be seen in "Das Boot" when you watch the English lip-sinc version. Much better to stick with the subtitles and original language.

It wasn't a matter of getting the translation correct. It was a matter of matching the voice with the actor. Rambo is this tough rough gravely voiced guy....the guy lip synching, sounded like a, a, .....a complete wuss! Like a cokebottle glassed introvert accountant you would see in a Twilight Zone episode.

I've never been too much of a Sly Stallone fan. I honestly think he's a B-movie actor, with a top celeb paycheck.
I dunno why he is actually that popular, I just don't see it ...

I agree. Subtitles are way better.

OTOH, I have a friend who is legally blind (20% sight in one eye). She can watch and enjoy movies but subtitles are impossible for her.

The guy is pretty one-dimensional, IMHO. The Rocky movies were pretty cheap, I thought. Major suspension of disbelief required.

I guess comedy wasn't cutting it so might as well go back to what got him noticed in the first place, Rambo and Rocky. He was good in Antz lol

Now all we need is Jean Claude to do another Universal Soldier and Seagal to do another Above the Law, and we can complete the trinity

Jean Claude is dead and Segal is too fat to do karate anymore. You have to give Stallone credit for at least staying in good enough shape to do another Rambo movie.
