Craig Price: Life sentence or death penalty for teenage offenders?

I never thought I'd consider that it might be appropriate . . . . but then I'd never heard about this guy:

we as a society are failing to teach responsibility and consequences to children.
while i cant say that that would have helped in this case, i do believe that there is a slippery slope that leads to cases like this.

me, i believe in throwing the book at unrepentanat juveniles. in the wild, a juvenile animal challenging the head of the pack gets promptly and cruelly put in its place. the human animal needs to take a look at nature.

I'm not in favor of the death penalty. You could write hundreds of dissertations about people like this. I guess you could have psyche students practice their counseling skills on this guy.

Kuan- That leads me to wonder what the heck happened to this kid to make him such a psychopath at such a young age....something happened to him, I'd to know what it was..I don't think evil like that is just born...

Maybe he really was born like that. Probably some extremely selective form of an emotional disorder where killing provides him with extreme pleasure coupled with the fact that he can't feel any other emotion? Dunno...

Thumbs down *** "For some, despite all we do, it is never enough..." ***

For what he did - he was lucky he got put behind bars...

In another country...the mob mentality would have, probably, ended his life at the doorsteps of his mother's home.

But, because our NATION (the USA) has a sense of justice in ALL THINGS, and had never run accross this type of thing before, worked WITHIN the current system to convict this person...justly.

But, when the criminal mind, either that of an adult or a juvenile, refuses to bend, or adhere to the laws of the law, and even goes so far as to threaten those around...then the law must adapt itself to the ever-changing landscape of the lawless.

Our laws are built around the foundations of solid observations and principles.

However, on the other hand, the criminal mind operates outside of of that "box" of those very foundations that society has set up FOR ALL TO FOLLOW.

However, as Neanderthal pointed out, animal packs do "discipline," or kill, their own when they step out of line...and it's usually the the leader that does it...no judge, jury, attorney or friend backing up that decision.

We are above the animal, despite what some humanists might say to the contrary...Price is nothing more than a walking, talking, breathing piece of DNA that doesn't care about those around him, let alone himself...

Maybe the best thing that can be done to him is to put him in deep isolation...food slipped to him, his "cage" sprayed down with tepid water to clean the "cage" and himself (the assumption is that he's NOT going to adhere to rules of cleaniness...) and minimal contact with humans as much as possible...and only those that are guards...screw the lawyers and pansy-@55ed human-rightists...this Price person lost that right when he killed, not only two adults and two children, but a community's safety and innocents and state's dignity, by the crimes that he committed.

If, by December 2020, Price should feel he's owed something by the state...someone, within the current prison system, should "Dahmer" him and save the state, and the country, the horror of finding out just how well our prison system rehabilitates...

Becasue, for some, despite all that we do, or try to do, it sometimes is NEVER enough.

And I, for one, don't want to be the one to find out how bad we, as a community, state and nation, failed.

I think there are some people who are just evil. That's not to say that there aren't plenty who are normal, but get screwed up by their parents or someone else in their early lives.

Sadly, Genghis Khan or Alexander the Great probably had some of the same traits as this guy.

There is a psychiatrist who studyied the likes of Bundy and he said some of them maybe hard wired or predisposed to this behavior but something environmentally has to build on it. Creepy. There is a show on cable called "Most Evil" that features this psychiatrist and the people he profiles, pretty interesting.

Hmm

He did this is my home state, Rhode Island, and there was a big uproar about it. I personally can't stand the idea that he will fester in prison for eternity sucking up valuable taxpayers dollars like a sponge. Call me cruel, but get a few guys with .30-06's and save us all a lot of scratch.

Does make you wonder where such a guy comes from. One person in the article said that fewer than one percent of killers are as frenzied in their relish for the deed as this fellow, and that such inclinations are difficult to root out.

Indications are that he had a relatively good home but who knows? Maybe his parents resented his existance and went through the motions. Then again, maybe evil strikes sorta randomly. Klebold and Harris seemed to have had decent enough family lives.
