First time I ever heard of stealing a valve body.....

FLASH! Another in the searial stealing of mercedes 140 valve bodies. Local law enforcment officials are working feverishly to try to piece together clues to apprehend this nefarious felon!

Sounds like an inside job to me. I wonder if the guy just broke up with his mechanic girlfriend?

I live in a rough neighborhood. One night I was held up, but the guy had class. He used an electric razor. This guy, he took my watch, my wallet, and a little off the sides. Actually, I blame myself. I was standing right next to an outlet

I live in a rough neighborhood. We just put up a sign. It says "Drive Fast. The life you save may be your own."

I came from a real tough neighborhood. I put my hand in some cement and felt another hand.

I live in a rough neighborhood, I bought a waterbed, there was a guy at the bottom of it

another illusion shattered....wow

San Mateo is a nice area, I thought.

I am in a so called "gated community" up here in the Sierra foothills.

That allowed me to leave the Mercedes unlocked and in the driveway overnight for about 3 years, and nothing ever happened, except the roof clearcoat got destroyed by the harsh heat and cold extremes. I finally got wise and made room in the garage for it with the Subaru Outback that is in there.

Nothing at all like when I lived in San Francisco, a nice neighborhood, but cars once in a while got stolen, or the wheels stolen off them (Japanese cars usually)

I lived in a neighborhood I heard was "bad" for about two years. I usually left my cars unlocked, and nobody bothered them. In October I moved to a "better" neighborhood about two miles away, and someone stole the owner's manual out of my (unlocked) 240D.

When I lived in Midtown Atlanta, someone took the hood ornament off my Lincoln Town Car.

Lafayette is generally pretty safe. But I habitually lock my vehicles even if just going into the drug store for five minutes. YOu never know who might happen along and decide to take something relatively insignificant. It could be my favorite cd or a wrench.

If left unlocked a couple of times in thrity years of living here I have come out in the morning to find my glove box rifled.

ONce my tools got stolen out of the garage. And my rear speakers got taken out of my bmw bavaria.

It turned out the Catholic church next door had an ex con working as a janitor and a few weeks later I saw what appeared to be my speakers in the back of his POS pickup truck.

I never can get my wife to lock hardly anything though.

I suggest she might come out someday and find that a wino slept in the car and urinated in her seat......thinking that image would do it.....to no avail.

I've always heard that Toyotas and Hondas are the most often stolen cars. I guess that's for the parts.

Accords, Civics and Camrys the most.

Most of all, they want the Airbags out of them.

My cousins ex boyfriend had a Civic SI with tons of mods done to it, TV's the works. IE totaly pointless. Anyway one of his "friends" probably stole it and brought it to New Haven, the cops found the body shell on a nice crappy street. Its like the plane that got stripped in Lord of War. Those people are like ants they swarm over something like that and take every bolt. Then your nice $5k brake kit gets sold for $500, and the $1k carbon fiber hood gets slapped on some $500 POS civic with miss matching fenders.

I never lock my cars, no one bothers them.

I generally don't lock my doors unless I absolutely have to. I rather replace my stereo, than have to replace my stereo AND my window.
