Black leather seats to repalce worn out tan ones in my BMW

I have a 1983 633CSI. It is white with tan leather. The drivers seat is toast, and it would cost me almost $1,000 to have it redone. I had someone leave a note on my front door saying that he knows someone who has parts for these cars and I can get a whole set of excellent black leather seats for $100. The car does have other black it, the seats, and top of the door panels. I feel as if I cant go wrong for that price, but then again the code on the vin says the the car is supposed to have tan leather. so, with this, will I destroy the future value of this car if I convert it to a black interior?

Save the original seats so the next owner can convert it back if they want.

I don't know...black leather seats are so hot in the summer, and I have a feeling that these seats will be hot year-round.

Unless its a convertible I cannot imagine the color of the seats make that much difference....now the color of the roof is another matter!

These are in mint condioton, which is the only reason that I would consider doing the conversion.

I would do it, as the colors would compliment, and be a natural match. Keep the old seats for the next owner. This is a driving BMW and not a show car? For $100.00, you can't go wrong.

Good Luck...Wiedersehen
